Vietnam or Thailand: Where to Fly from Tashkent This Winter

Vietnam and Thailand are this winter's two top tropical destinations. Both are warm, with beaches and great food. We compare them on what really drives the choice: visa, flights, season, and price.
Visa
- Thailand — since September 15, 2026, Uzbek citizens need an e-visa, applied for online in advance (fee about 1,000 baht).
- Vietnam — e-visa $25 (up to 90 days). And if you fly directly to Phu Quoc, you don't need a visa at all for up to 30 days.
Bottom line: if you want to fly out fast with no paperwork, go to Phu Quoc.
Flight
- Thailand: direct flights to Bangkok and Phuket, about 6–6.5 hours.
- Vietnam: direct flights to Phu Quoc take about 6.5–7 hours, to Nha Trang about 7.5 hours.
Winter Season
- Phuket — dry season from November to April.
- Koh Samui — October through December is the rainiest period.
- Phu Quoc — dry season from November to April.
- Nha Trang — rains last until December; summer is the better time to go.
In winter both countries are great if you pick the right resort: Phuket or Phu Quoc.
Time and Money
- Both countries are 2 hours ahead of Tashkent.
- Currency: the baht in Thailand, the dong in Vietnam. Dollars can be exchanged at currency exchange offices.

Which to Choose
- Want to fly out quickly, without a visa — Phu Quoc.
- Ready to apply for a visa in advance — Phuket: more beaches and entertainment, and a shorter flight.
- Traveling in summer — Nha Trang.
