Vacation in the UAE: The Essentials

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the quickest destination for a spontaneous trip: no visa, about a 4-hour flight, and daily departures. That's why you can book a last-minute tour to the UAE literally for the coming weekend — all you need is an international passport.

Last-minute deals are usually 4–7 nights in Dubai, Sharjah, or Ras Al Khaimah. Dubai is the place to stay for the city and shopping, Ras Al Khaimah for the beach and all-inclusive, and Sharjah is the most budget-friendly option. Demand peaks from November to March; summer prices are lower, but the days are very hot.

UAE Resorts

  • Dubai

    Dubai

Skyscrapers, Dubai Mall, and Dubai Marina with city beaches. Hotels for every budget, plus shopping.

  • Abu Dhabi

    Abu Dhabi

The UAE capital: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island with its theme parks, and the quiet beaches of Saadiyat.

  • Sharjah

    Sharjah

Affordable hotels 20 minutes from Dubai, museums, and waterfronts. An alcohol-free emirate.

  • Ras Al Khaimah

    Ras Al Khaimah

All-inclusive beach resorts and the Jebel Jais mountains with the world's longest zipline.

  • Fujairah

    Fujairah

The east coast on the Indian Ocean: mountains, snorkeling reefs, and quiet beaches.

The Emirates are the closest warm sea for travelers from Tashkent: about a 4-hour flight, no visa, and daily flights. People come for the beaches, shopping, and theme parks.

The Emirates Compared

Abu Dhabi Air Arabia Abu Dhabi flights ≈ 4 h calmer than Dubai: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island parks — great for families
Ras Al Khaimah via Dubai airport, 1–1.5 h by car all-inclusive beach hotels, Jebel Jais mountains
Fujairah via Dubai or Sharjah airport, by car through the mountains quiet Gulf of Oman beaches and snorkeling

How Much a Vacation Costs on the Ground

The Emirates aren't the cheapest destination: café meals and entertainment cost more here than in Asia. Price guide for Dubai — based on Numbeo and travel guides, October 2026:

What Dirhams ≈ $
Lunch at an inexpensive café 47 13
Cappuccino 22 6
Water, 1.5 L 2,4 0,65
Metro, single ride 3–7,5 0,8–2
Taxi: flag fall and 1 km 12 + ≈ 2,2 3,3 + 0,6
Burj Khalifa, observation deck ≈ 173–250 ≈ 47–68
Louvre Abu Dhabi 65 18
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque free —

The dirham is pegged to the dollar — about 3.67 dirhams to $1, and dollars are easy to exchange; Visa and Mastercard are accepted almost everywhere. At the hotel you also pay the tourist fee (7–20 dirhams per night) and leave a deposit.

Daily budget per person excluding hotel, by our estimate: $55–90 — meals outside the hotel, transportation, and one paid attraction.

When to Visit the UAE

Weather in Dubai: there's almost no rain. From November to March it's warm and comfortable; from May to September daytime temperatures reach 37–41 °C — best to choose a hotel with a pool and a beach right outside.

Frequently asked questions

12 answers to frequently asked questions

Do Uzbek citizens need a visa for the United Arab Emirates?

No. Since February 16, 2024, you can stay in the Emirates visa-free for up to 30 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months; you may be asked for a hotel booking and a return ticket at the border. Rules are as of October 2026; before booking, we'll double-check them for your dates.

How long is the flight from Tashkent?

About 3.5–4.5 hours on a direct flight. To Dubai — flydubai twice a day, Centrum Air on Thursdays and Saturdays, and Uzbekistan Airways; to Sharjah — Air Arabia on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays; to Abu Dhabi — Air Arabia Abu Dhabi on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. From Samarkand, starting December 30 — flydubai on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

What is the fee charged at the hotel?

In Dubai, it's the Tourism Dirham fee: 7 to 20 dirhams (about $2–5.50) per room per night depending on the hotel category, for no more than 30 nights. It's paid at the hotel, which usually also takes a deposit.

What is the currency and the time difference?

The dirham is pegged to the dollar, and dollars are easy to exchange. The Emirates are 1 hour behind Tashkent.

When is the best time to go?

From November to March. From May to September it's very hot — 37–41 °C during the day.

Can you swim in winter?

Yes, in December–March the water is about 22–25 °C.

How much does a 7-day package to Dubai cost?

It depends on the emirate, hotel category, and dates. “From” prices per person — including flights from Tashkent and transfers — are in the section “UAE Tour Prices by Hotel”. We’ll send you 2–3 options for your dates within a day.

When are UAE tours cheaper?

Usually in summer, from June to August: it's very hot during the day, but hotels are much cheaper. The most expensive dates are the New Year holidays.

Are there all-inclusive options in the UAE?

Yes, but usually in a soft form: meals are included, while alcohol costs extra. Most of these hotels are in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Ajman; Dubai hotels typically offer breakfast or half board.

How much money should I bring to Dubai?

Dubai is pricier than Thailand and Vietnam: lunch at an inexpensive café is about $13, coffee about $6. By our estimate, you'll need $55–90 per person a day for meals outside the hotel, transportation, and one paid attraction, plus the hotel tourist fee. More details in the section “How Much a Vacation Costs on the Ground”.

What rules should I know?

Alcohol is banned in Sharjah. In malls it's best to cover shoulders and knees; in mosques women need a headscarf and modest clothing; there are no restrictions on beaches or in hotels. During Ramadan (expected to begin around February 8 in 2027), eating and drinking in public during the day is not allowed.

What is included in a last-minute tour?

Usually round-trip flights from Tashkent, airport transfers, and a hotel with your chosen meal plan. The tourist fee and deposit are paid at the hotel. We'll tell you exactly what's included in each offer when we send you the options.
