One-day walking tour of central Tashkent The tour begins at the State Museum of Applied Arts and introduces key chapters in the city's Soviet and modern history, housed in the former Poltoratsky mansion (early 20th century). Unique examples of Uzbek applied art are displayed here: carved wooden furniture, ceramics, traditional fabrics, jewelry, and carpets.
The group then moves on to the Kosmonavtov metro station, one of the most beautiful and photogenic in Tashkent, opened in 1984 and decorated in a space theme.
The walk continues along Cosmonauts Avenue, through a shady alley lined with mature oak trees, to the Alisher Navoi Opera House (visited from the outside). The route then passes the Zarafshan Cinema and leads to Sayilgokh Street, known to Tashkent residents as Broadway. Here you'll find souvenir shops, small amusement parks, and a flea market where you can find art and antiques.
The next stop is Amir Timur Square. From the square, you can enjoy views of the Chimes and one of the city's signature buildings, the Uzbekistan Hotel. After lunch at a café near the square, the group returns along Sayilgokh Street or a parallel street and visits the House of Romanov. The tour concludes with a walk to Independence Square, the Courage Monument, and a walk along Alisher Navoi Avenue to the Tashkent City complex. From here, Magic City Park and Chorsu Bazaar are just a stone's throw away (the final part of the program can be explored independently or with a guide, as desired).
The sightseeing tour is entirely on foot (with a brief use of the metro). The total route length is approximately 8-10 km, lasting 6-8 hours, with stops for photos, guided tours, and lunch. It allows you to see how pre-revolutionary architecture, the Soviet period, and the modern appearance of Uzbekistan's capital come together in a single day.
