One-day excursion "Palaces of the Emirs and Sufi Secrets"« The tour begins at 9:00 AM in Bukhara and introduces key monuments in the city's historic center and surrounding areas. The route combines architectural gems from the emiric period with sites associated with the Sufi tradition of Central Asia.
The tour lasts 6–8 hours, including travel in comfortable vehicles. It's ideal for those who want to see both the ceremonial architecture of the emir period and the atmosphere of spiritual centers that have preserved Sufi traditions in one day.
Tour itinerary
9:00 AM – Pick-up and departure in central Bukhara. You'll meet your guide and driver at your hotel or a convenient location in the historic center. The first stop is the Bolo Hauz Mosque. It's especially pleasant here in the morning: the cool aivan, reflections in the pond, and views of the Ark create a tranquil atmosphere to start the day.
Samanid Mausoleum
A small but strikingly proportioned tomb in a quiet park. The brickwork and ornamentation change depending on the light—from golden in the sun to more austere in the shade.
Chor Minor
This compact monument with four minarets is quickly remembered for its unusual shape. Here, you can leisurely examine the decorative details and get a sense of the scale of Bukhara architecture of the early 19th century.
Sitorai Mohi-Hosa.
The summer residence transports you to the atmosphere of the final period of the Bukhara Emirate. You'll see palace pavilions, a throne room, museum collections (furniture, tableware, gold embroidery), and gardens with peacocks. The place combines formality with the comfort of the emirs' country life.
Towards Sufi complexes
First, a visit to the Bahauddin Naqshbandi complex. The quiet courtyards, the mosque, and the sheikh's burial site—there's a unique atmosphere here, a spiritual center where pilgrims have come for centuries.
Amir Kulol Complex
The mausoleum of Bahauddin, the teacher, is surrounded by a garden. This place allows one to end the day with reflections on the continuity of Sufi traditions.
Estimated end time: 3:00–5:00 PM, depending on the group's pace and interest. Return to central Bukhara or your hotel.

When is the best time to go on a one-day excursion to the cities of Uzbekistan?
The optimal time is spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October), when temperatures remain within a comfortable range of +20–+30°C. Summer (June–August) often sees temperatures exceeding +35°C, so excursions begin early in the morning.
How long does the full route take?
6–8 hours with photo stops, a museum visit, and lunch. The distances are short, and the route is on foot.
What to take with you on a walk?
Comfortable shoes, water, a hat (in spring/autumn), a small amount for souvenirs and lunches.
Is it possible to have a photo session in national costumes?
Yes, in many cities (including Khiva), this is possible in the afternoon or during free time. Renting costumes usually costs 5-10 USD, and guides know suitable spots for photos against the backdrop of historical sites.
Are cities in Uzbekistan safe for tourists?
Uzbekistan is considered one of the safest countries to travel to in Central Asia. Tourist police are present in tourist areas (Ichan-Kala, the historic centers of Samarkand and Bukhara), and locals are welcoming. Take the usual precautions—keep an eye on your personal belongings in crowded places.
Clothing and behavior at shrines
When visiting the mausoleums, modest clothing covering the shoulders and knees is recommended. Women are advised to bring a headscarf or scarf. It is recommended to perform ablutions (where possible) before entering the complexes. Maintain silence, respect, and adhere to local traditions—this will allow you to fully experience the atmosphere of the ziyarat.
