Morning: Departure to Urgut and Chor Chinor
In the morning, a comfortable car will pick you up from Samarkand. About an hour later, you'll arrive in Urgut. Here, Chor Chinor grove — a place where plane trees over a thousand years old grow. The mighty tree trunks, shady alleys, spring water, and silence create a unique atmosphere. You'll stroll through the grove, learn local legends, and take atmospheric photos.
Then a short stop at the Urgut bazaar, where you can see how the locals live and trade, and get acquainted with traditional products.
Lunch in Samarkand
Return to Samarkand and have lunch at one of the local restaurants (additional charge). Here you can sample Uzbek cuisine: pilaf, shashlik, fresh vegetables, and flatbreads.
Afternoon: Craft Workshops
After lunch, you will visit an Afghan silk factory, a family-run business that demonstrates the entire process of creating silk carpets, from dyeing the threads to hand weaving.
Next - Coniguil Crafts Center. Here you'll see how paper is handcrafted from mulberry bark using a technique dating back to Timurid times. Craftsmen will demonstrate every step, from boiling the bark to producing the finished sheets. Souvenirs are available for purchase on site.
Evening: Return to the center of Samarkand. End of the tour.
